Dale makes figures like those pictured above on a special order basis only. When making "little people" figures, she uses a spiral plait to make pants or pantaloons and a 10-straw open-end plait to make chaps. Clothes, bandannas and bonnets are made from the husks of Indian corn. We named the figure on the right "Polaris" because of its star shape. It is made using a cord- or leather-wrapped ring and diamond-plaited straws. The center of this figure is a polished hardwood disk. These figures take many hours to make. They sell for between $50 and $100.
